Description

The ARG ARP9820 Air Relief Valve is built to take the place of aging filter vents identified by OEM part number 98209800. As air relief valves weather and wear, they become harder to turn, start seeping around the stem, or stop venting air cleanly. That leaves air pockets trapped in the filter tank, which makes the system noisy, unstable and less safe to open.

Swapping to ARP9820 restores a predictable bleed point at the top of the filter. On startup or after service, you open the valve, purge air until the water stream runs solid, then close it and let the filter run. It’s a small, low-cost fix that eliminates hissing, weeping and stubborn vents without touching the rest of the equipment pad.

Any time you pull the filter apart for a full cartridge or grid clean, inspect the air relief. If it’s chalky, cracked or a fight to turn, replace it while the system is already down.
