The Hayward High Limit Kit (IDXHLK1930) is a safety component that prevents the heater from overheating by monitoring the internal temperature and shutting off the heating system if it exceeds a safe limit.

• Temperature Monitoring:
• The high-limit switch is a temperature-sensitive device placed near the heat exchanger.
• It continuously monitors the heater’s internal temperature.
• Automatic Shutdown for Safety:
• If the temperature exceeds the preset safety limit (typically around 135-150°F, depending on the model), the high-limit switch trips, cutting power to the gas valve and shutting down the heater.

• Manual Reset (If Required):
• Some high-limit switches automatically reset when the heater cools down, allowing it to function again.
• Others require a manual reset by turning off the heater and restarting it.
• Prevents Component Damage & Fire Hazards:
• High-limit switch protects internal components like the heat exchanger, wiring, and control board.
• It also reduces the risk of fire hazards or damage caused by excessive temperatures.
