Hayward GLX-FLO-RP-25 flow switch detects water flow in a pool or spa system. It’s a crucial safety component in systems like Hayward salt chlorinators (e.g., AquaRite), ensuring that the system operates only when there is sufficient water flow to avoid damage or unsafe conditions. 

• Flow Monitoring:
• Inside the switch, a paddle or sensor is placed in the water stream.
• The paddle or sensor is displaced or activated when water flows through the pipe.
• If the water flow stops or is insufficient, the paddle/sensor returns to its resting state.
• Signal Communication:
• The switch sends a signal to the chlorinator or control unit indicating adequate water flow.
• If the flow is sufficient, the chlorinator proceeds to generate chlorine.
• If the flow is inadequate, the system shuts off the chlorinator to prevent overheating, damage, or improper operation.
• No-Tee Installation:
• This model connects directly to the plumbing line without requiring a “tee” fitting, making it easier to install in certain setups.
• Safety Assurance:
• Stops the salt cell from operating without water flow, which could cause harmful gas buildup or overheating.
